Besan : Gram Flour

Besan is a pulse flour made from a type of ground chickpea called gram chickpea. It is something you   can  find in your Indian, Pakistani, Bangladeshi and Nepali cuisines.

Gluten Free : In recent years it has got popularity across the world as a Gluten-free product. It is the perfect solution for the people who loves to eat wheat rotis or chillas but are sensitive to gluten.

Source of protein : It is a good source of protein. 100gm of chickpea flour provides 20gm of protein which plays an important role in weight management. 

Glycemic Index : GI in gram flour is 6 which slows down the process of breaking down food into sugar which helps decrease the blood sugar.

Chickpea flour may regulate your hunger harmone "ghrelin" but some research is still needed to explain its effect.


Wonder Face Masks : 

Besan and Haldi face mask:


A paste can be prepared with yogurt or dahi with a pinch of haldi. Apply it on face and neck and let it dry for 20 minutes. Scrub your face with wet hand and exfoliate it gently. Wash it off and follow with a moisturizer.



Besan and Papaya mask : A combination of Besan, papaya and orange juice is great to even out your skin tone and for tan removal as well. Apply this mixture over your face and neck for 20 minutes or until it dries. Wash it off and follow with a good moisturizer.

Remember....Gram flour is the star ingredient of your kitchen. You may also prepare hair mask by adding the basic kitchen items in it.

Besan and Curd hair Mask : Make a paste of besan and curd as per your desired consistency. You may add some water or lime juice in it. Start applying from your roots or scalp directly till ends. Leave it for 30 minutes and wash it off. 

Besan balances oil in your scalp and prevents dryness. It also makes your hair follicles strong which improves hair growth. Curd in this mask will help your hair shine and reduce dandruff.


Besan and Shikakai hair Mask : Take 2 Spoon of Shikakai and 2 spoon of gram flour add some water in it as per the desired consistency and length of the hair. You may also add lime juice and few drops of coconut olive oil in it. Apply the paste on your hair and roots as well. Wash it off after 30-40 minutes.

Shikakai promotes hair growth as well as can be used as a shampoo. Thus, shikakai and besan hair mask will be your go-to-solution for hair thinning, hair growth and dryness problem.
